We got back from our vacation on Saturday, April 11th and it feels like we just hit the ground running. Well, we did have Sunday to settle back in and relax a little and I am really thankful for that because as soon as we woke up on Monday morning, our week was already full.

Sunday was a beautiful day so after we cleaned up lunch, Melayna and I went on a walk together. We walked about three miles as we walked the greenway and when we were on our way back, we passed the boys on their bikes. Nolan played at the park for a short while and then they came back home in time for dinner.
Signs of spring everywhere

I picked Nolan up from school a few minutes early on Monday because he had a dentist appointment. While we were waiting for his name to be called, he got up and went over to the Kids Korner. He came back about 30 seconds later though because "it was boring". LOL
On Tuesday night, we had a bad round of thunderstorms come through. We even got pea sized hail for a couple of minutes, but thankfully it didn't do any damage to our property.
As soon as the storm passed through, the night cleared up and we had a beautiful sunset.

We had to wake up earlier on Wednesday morning because Melayna was chosen as a 'Student of the Week' by the Optimist Club in our town so we were invited to have breakfast with the group while she received her award. I'll post pictures from that in a later post.

The boys and girls track teams had a meet on Wednesday night. The boys team traveled to an away meet and then the girls competed at home. Another storm passed through around 2:00 and this time the hail was quite a bit bigger, but once again it quickly passed through and the meet started on time a couple of hours later without any more rain.

On Thursday night, we went back to the high school again as Melayna was honored once again. This time by Tri Kappa. I'll post pictures from that event in a separate post.

On Friday, the two younger kids had school and then after school, Melayna headed down to Lafayette Jeff with some of the sprinters from her track team. After I picked Nolan up from school, I got home and Morgan and Marissa were both home for 24 hours (for Noel's birthday) so Morgan and I were able to drive down to watch Melayna run and Marissa and Nolan stayed home and helped me get things ready for Noel's birthday celebration the next day. Apparently Nolan had fun and Marissa did more of the work.

Speaking of track meets, I'll share a post about the Sprinter's Showcase at Lafayette Jeff in a later post, but her senior banner arrived this week so that is fun news.

And as I just mentioned, the two older girls came home on Friday afternoon and brought the first loads of belongings from their dorm room. They came home so that they could be home for Noel's birthday and then after celebrating on Saturday, they both headed back on Saturday evening. I'll post more about Noel's birthday in a separate post but it was so wonderful getting to celebrate Noel on his actual birthday and it was just as wonderful having the girls home once last time before their semester comes to an end.
It looks like you had another great vacation! It was fun to see some of the same spots that we visited last year and then others that I wish we had known about! Thanks for sharing your family fun!
